We have partnered with a leading Aggregates organisation to recruit for a Area Sales Manager to join their organization. This role is responsible for driving organic business development, creating and executing strategic commercial plans, tracking market demand and key business indicators, leading revenue and margin growth, optimizing pricing strategies, and setting annual sales budgets.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Team Leadership and Performance:
- Champion safety initiatives, ensuring strict compliance with Health & Safety policies.
- Develop annual sales budgets and establish clear performance targets for the sales team.
- Manage the team’s performance through ongoing feedback and performance evaluations.
- Conduct regular sales meetings and attend customer interactions to provide coaching and support.
- Oversee key customer relationships, ensuring alignment with pricing strategies.
- Lead talent management efforts, including recruiting, training, and ongoing development of the sales team.
Market Strategy and Action Planning:
- Create and maintain an up-to-date strategic market overview.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the Regional Strategic Plan.
- Lead the implementation of the annual sales action plan, ensuring alignment with budget goals.
- Identify and assess new market opportunities to drive business growth.
- Track and analyze market trends, economic indicators, and competitive landscape.
- Manage key sales reports and maintain critical market data.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Actively participate in regional leadership discussions and planning meetings.
- Oversee the review of revenue performance and lead sales forecasting processes.
- Collaborate with corporate communications and cross-functional teams to align strategies.
- Act as a succession candidate for General Manager (GM) roles within the organization.
Industry and Community Involvement:
- Represent the company by serving on industry association boards and committees.
- Encourage the sales team to engage with relevant industry and community organizations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, construction management, engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- Minimum of 7 years of sales or related experience, preferably in the aggregate industry
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Deep understanding of the sales process and best practices
- Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and analytical skills
- Proven ability to coach, develop others, and hold teams accountable
- Strong customer orientation
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and ERP/CRM systems
